Paediatric First Aid 2 day course
Level 3 Paediatric First Aid : 2 day course, units 1 & 2
This qualification is designed for those who are working with children and infants. It will be of particular interest to teachers, child minders, crèche assistants, playgroup personnel and anyone else who has a responsibility for their welfare whilst in your care.
It is ideal for individuals who are responsible for children and infants, who wish to gain a nationally accredited Level 3 Award.
This two-day course satisfies the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted. In order to obtain this qualification, you must attend both days and complete the two units of accreditation.
A range of subjects are covered including :
- Responsibilities and reporting
- Assessment of the situation
- Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
- Head injuries
- Infantile convulsions
- Foreign bodies
- Control of bleeding
- Eye injuries
- Heat and Cold
- Sickle cell anaemia
Typical delivery methods are predominantly practical and the course is assessed by continual observation of candidate performance.
The course consists of 12 hours contact / tuition time which is normally spread over at least 2 days. The course should ideally be run over two consecutive days. At First Aid Training North East Ltd we are flexible and can tailor the course to suit your specific needs. We need to ensure that once the course starts that the course is completed within 6 weeks of starting and each session needs to be at least two hours in duration.
